Guide for Installation

Alright - since everyone has been asking how to download the game, I thought I'd make a quick guide on how to do it.

1) First you download and install the base "Maplestory v83" Files which you can get from here.

2) Follow this link to join the Discord server and you'll find the download under the #announcements label.

[b]3) Once done with the v83 download, open that up and extract the files from the downloader into a folder, once that's done - ya'll remember the .rar file you downloaded in step two? Open that up - then drag and drop all of the files in that .rar file into your v83 Maplestory folder.

Since you already started this guide making (I was planning to do it). I'll just add onto this.

NOTE: Before we start, it is a good idea for you to have turned off any antivirus or firewall which you may currently have on.

Step 1: Go to this link: http://lucianms.com/?base=main&page=download

Step 2: Click on the picture with the word "SETUP" on it and proceed to download the clean v83 setup.

Step 3: Go back to the download page: http://lucianms.com/?base=main&page=download

Step 4: Now click on the image with the word "CLIENT" on it, and proceed to download the LucianMS files.

Step 5: Wait for the files to download.

Step 6: While waiting, create a LucianMS folder somewhere on your computer, just make sure not to put it in any folder that may already have another version of maplestory in there.

Step 8: Now that your files have finished downloading, drag the v83 setup into your newly made LucianMS folder and proceed to install it in the same folder.

Step 9: While installing the v83 setup, make sure to change the destination folder (when prompted to do so during installation) to your current LucianMS folder.

Step 10: Wait for the v83 setup to finish installing.

Step 11: Now that v83 has finished, you can finally take all of the files from the LucianMS files that you downloaded (make sure to choose all of them) and proceed to drag them into the LucianMS folder that you just installed the v83 setup into.

Step 12: Now while transferring the files, your operating system will tell you that another copy of the file already exists. When prompted with the following options:

Move and Replace

Don't move

Move, but keep both files

Here, make sure to choose the first option (Move and Replace), do this for every single file.


Step 13: Now that you have everything in the folder, go to your firewall's & antivirus's exclusions, and now make sure to add your LucianMS folder there and your LucianMS Launcher. Now you can safely turn both your antivirus and firewall back on. If you do not know how to do this, then google it or ask someone for help .

Step 14: If you did everything correctly you can now proceed to launching the game. When launching, make sure you run  the launcher as Administrator. To do this, right-click on the launcher and choose Run as administrator.
